From the President
Hello again! Yes it is me, Alan Koreneff, back again for another year as President. It was not supposed to be this way, but sometimes duty calls. Due to an unfortunate change in Board Membership, the Board voted to retain me as President for another year to preserve the newly elected officers in the positions they agreed to serve. So here we go again…
Thanks for taking the time to visit the North Carolina Biomedical Association (NCBA) web site. This year, members of the NCBA will see and experience even more changes. The newly elected Board of Directors is working to improve the top Biomedical Association in the country.
It is an honor and privilege to lead this organization in its 32nd year of service to the Biomedical community. I ask for your opinions, thoughts and recommendations throughout the year. The NCBA belongs to its membership and can only improve through its membership. The NCBA was formed in the late 1970's. Today we have over 500 members. Our mission is to provide high quality, low cost education for BMETs and Clinical Engineers. Our primary method of accomplishing that goal is through our annual Symposium and Expo and through regional seminars offered throughout the year. The NCBA is more than an association of allied-health professionals; it is a collection of friends and colleagues dedicated to sharing education and training with anyone to whom this information may be of benefit.
Our annual symposium is a great opportunity to take advantage of training concentrated into categories which offer something for everyone. One of the next big changes for this year will be the NCBA’s 32nd Annual Symposium and Expo moving up in the year to September 8th, 9th and 10. The golf tournament will be held on September 7th, and we will be bringing back the NCBA famous “Pig Pickin’!
Each year leaders are chosen by the membership to carry on the traditions of excellence which have brought the NCBA to national prominence. Six of our current board members each year will either rotate off the board, or run for reelection. The NCBA needs your experience and willingness to serve. Please consider offering your expertise by serving on a committee and/or including your name on the ballot for election to the Board of Directors this September.
Again, welcome to the NCBA website, and thank you for taking the time to visit. I invite you to browse the various pages for information on membership, the annual symposium, position postings, education and other opportunities. Please remember to check back often for the latest news.
